Lee Travis, Head of Professional Development at the Personal Finance Society
The 2017 Festival of Financial Planning is a completely new concept for our profession, designed to offer an exciting, dynamic and immersive experience for all participants. It is going to be one of the biggest events that personal finance has ever seen, with up to 18,000 square metres of the NEC dedicated to 3,000 festival goers, masses of exhibitors, speakers and entertainers!
Every attendee will be able to tailor their own unique experience and create a customised festival programme; choosing what they want to see, when they want to see it. The festival scheduling tool will be invaluable to members and will soon be available on the PFS Events app, so if you have not already, be sure to download the free app today.
With 76 sessions running in 5 theatres within 4 themed zones, there will be something to satisfy everyone’s professional development needs. Pick and choose between a variety of speakers ranging from technical content, thought leadership, inspirational, business advice, product and service updates. Add to this a line-up of high profile key note presentations and a central village green, and you will start to appreciate that this is not just your usual conference.
But it does not stop there. Throughout the themed areas, there will also be entertainment, leisurely pursuits and luxury brands showcasing some incredible products for you to ‘test drive’. After a hard day at the festival, you can look forward to drinks and canapés on the village green. With music and entertainment, it is the perfect setting to network, establish new relationships and recap on the festival experience so far.
This is just a glimpse of what we have in store for the first ever Festival of Financial Planning. We want to go beyond the familiar and push the boundaries of what our annual conference can be for everyone who has a stake in the personal finance profession.
