Keith Richards, CEO of the Personal Finance Society
As the largest professional body for the country’s financial planning profession, the Personal Finance Society (PFS) is committed to delivering a first class programme of events for our fast-growing membership of more than 37,000 professionals.
With this commitment in mind, we are excited to reveal our plans and open registration for the biggest conference in the financial services calendar later this year.
A Festival of Financial Planning will be held on 7th-8th November, when we’re expecting more than 3,000 delegates and 150 exhibitors to descend on Birmingham’s National Exhibition Centre for an unprecedented gathering of the country’s personal finance professionals.
Last year, we took our flagship event across the country, attracting more than 2,000 delegates to National Symposium events held in London, Newport, Birmingham and Edinburgh.
These events were extremely successful, and together represented the biggest gathering of financial advice professionals throughout 2016.
But later this year we will be going back to the future, returning to one single major conference, which we expect to become the biggest conference ever hosted by the PFS and one of the biggest conferences in the financial services calendar.
The last time we held one single flagship conference was in 2014, and we feel it is time again to offer the profession something new, exciting and relevant.
We all know professional conferences can at times be dry and predictable, but our festival later this year will be far from that.
We’re calling it a festival as we want each and every delegate to be entertained. And just like Glastonbury, sessions will be held concurrently across multiple areas, offering delegates greater flexibility and a wide variety of key subjects to satisfy all.
We’re also targeting some of the highest profile speakers in business, finance and politics to feature as headline acts.
Held over one and a half days, the festival will offer delegates an insightful and flexible programme of workshops, panel discussions and keynote speakers, catering to the interests of the full cross-section of the financial advice profession.
At the PFS, we’re looking forward to engaging with thousands of financial advice professionals from across the country, in one place where they can network and take part in a day and a half of festivities.
We are truly breaking new ground with this year’s Festival of Financial Planning, and you will hear more from us as the excitement builds in the lead up to the event, and as we develop an insightful programme featuring high profile and high quality speakers.
In the meantime, I’m thrilled to extend an invitation to anyone interested in becoming a part of history and attending this unprecedented event in financial services.
